Greenfield Geotechnical
Greenfield Geotechnical is an earthquake engineering consultation firm based in Portland, Oregon. I partnered with Nicole Sagris to create a revised and modern rebranded website as well as suggested associated products.
The icon mimics the reference diagrams of soil cross sections that Nicole and I researched while getting a better understanding of earthquake engineering. Additionally, the brand colors are representative of Portland’s red soil and greenery that is native to Greenfield Geotechnical’s headquarters. High contrast tones were emphasized in order to make the overal design as clear and legible as possible.
When researching competitor websites, we discovered that the layouts tended to be very academic and clinical in nature. Thus, a tactic we focused on was interactivity. Our topographic patterns and images interact with the page elements in order to create smooth transitions between topics. Additionally, we selected relevant imagery that speaks to the real environments that Greenfield Geotechnical works with.
